If you are using the Advanced Rostering, you can schedule lunch the way it is outlined in this article.
The only reason you would schedule lunch in the Roster, is if you want the time taken for lunch to be accounted for in the Wages Report. The Advanced Rostering allows you to track staff wages, click here to see how you can set up your Roster to track wages earned.
Lunch in the Roster.
Go to Roster.
Click the + next to the operator who you'd like to schedule Lunch for. On the right hand side panel choose Lunch from Roster Type drop down menu and Save. If you haven't got lunch there, go to Admin > Rostering and create a new Roster Type called Lunch.
Keep in mind that you would only schedule lunch in the Roster if their lunch hours are set, and you don't need to move them around the appointment page, or because you want the time taken out for lunch deducted from the hours they work.
Lunch using the Tasks feature.
Another way you can schedule lunch, so that it appears on your Appointment page, is to use the Tasks feature.
Go to the Admin page, select the Services tab, and click Tasks in Categories.
In the Services for Tasks section, go ahead and create a new Task by clicking New - i.e. Team Meeting, Cleaning, Lunch, Administration, Time Off etc. Fill out the task details on the right and Save.
Now you're ready to schedule your Tasks into your Appointment page.
Scheduling tasks in the operator columns.
It's just like making an appointment—click the time slot first, choose Add Task on right side panel.
Choose the task from the Select Tasks window, then click Confirm.
Just like appointments, tasks can be moved around your appointment diary, lengthened and shortened. Tasks are as flexible as you are.
If the task that you have added is one for holidays or time off, you can click the task name the actual task, and choose to Repeat it. You can repeat it daily, weekly etc for as long as you need to.
