Another process you need to know right away is how to do your End Of Day session.
Note: After the End Of Day process has been run for the day, you should not put any other transactions through or it will mess with your figures for the next day, especially if the transactions entered are cash.
Therefore, once you have finished all your appointments and sales for the day (the client appointments for the day should now be grey on the appointments page - showing they have been finalised), you can proceed to do your End Of Day session.
Enabling your Advanced End Of Day setting.
First things first, if you haven't already done so, go to your Settings, then to Cash Register Settings and tick Enable Advanced End Of Day, and Save.
Running the End Of Day session.
Go to POS, then into your Manage tab. On the bottom left hand corner you should see a Start End of Day Process button.
You will need to go through each payment method type and click Enter for each one and enter in the actual amount you received for each.
Start with Cash, open up your cash drawer and count how much cash you have in the till (collected for the day). In this example, we should have $4,336.05 in the actual cash drawer). Click Enter and enter the Actual amount of cash you have in the till. You can either enter the total amount to cash in the till, or use the Cash Calculator to help break it down....making it easier if you get interrupted or loose track of counting.
When you have finished counting your cash, hit Save.
Note: if there is a difference between the total and actual figure you have entered, it will prompt you to enter a reason (Add Comment) before allowing you to continue.
Oh, thats right! I took $10 out of the till for lunch and haven't put it back yet. So, add your comment as to why the till is under (or over) and Save.
Continue this process for Credit Card, Cheque and EFTPOS. A green tick will appear next to each payment method once it correctly totals. Even if the amount is $0.00, you still need to click Enter and enter 0 in the Enter Actual Amount on the right side panel and Save.
You can cancel the session at anytime by clicking Cancel End Of Day.
Once you have finished entering all the details and you screen looks something like this.
Click the option (bottom right hand corner).
You will then see a box on your right asking you to enter Next Session Float. (i.e we would like to keep $100 in the till for tomorrow).
Finally when you are done, click Close Session and hit OK.
Now when you go back to your POS page and go to the Manage tab you will see that you have your float all ready for tomorrow (i.e $100).
You can also see all the business that you have done that day by clicking on CLOSED: Show End-Of-Day Report. If nothing happens when you click CLOSED: Show End-Of-Day Report it means that you have pop ups blocked in your browser. You will need to allow pop ups in your browser settings, then click this report again.
After a busy day its time to go home and relax...you've earn't it!
